European Commission demands a single, standard phone charger - Boing Boing

This is a great idea to save e-waste & customers money on buying a new charger with each new cell phone. I can see companies avoiding this solely because they would lose their large revenues from lack of multi chargers. Maybe they could use USB 2.0 (or soon to be released 3.0)?
